Maps Credit Union Scholarships Official Rules
 
Application Period
Applications open February 1, 2024, at 12:00am, and close on April 15, 2024, at 11:59pm (the “Application Period”). Finalists may be asked to submit additional responses to video questions, with scholarship award decisions by May 15. No purchase necessary to participate. Membership is not required to participate, but preference will be given to Maps members. 
 
 
Application
By submitting a scholarship application, each applicant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules. No purchase necessary to participate. No membership necessary to participate. Individuals may submit applications by visiting Maps Credit Union’s website page and completing the application form or by using the QR code featured on various outreach materials. One written scholarship application is allowed per person as well as one video submittal per finalist if requested.
 
Awards
Maps plans to distribute $50,000 in scholarships to support local high school seniors graduating in 2024 who plan to continue their education after high school. Specific criteria for each scholarship category is included in the application. Scholarship awards may range from $1,000-$3,500. All scholarship awards will be selected by a review committee, except the Phil Frey Memorial Scholarship which is chosen by family members. Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, demonstrated leadership and community involvement, financial need, and application responses. Preference will be given to Maps members with at least 80% of scholarship recipients selected will be members.
 
Conditions
Applicants agree to release Maps Credit Union and its respective directors, officers, employees, agents, and subsidiaries from any and all liability, claims, causes of action, suits, and demands arising from or in connection with its lawful actions in conducting the Scholarship Program. Maps Credit Union reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Scholarship Program, in its entirety or in part, should tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond Maps Credit Union’s control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, or integrity of the program.
 
Eligibility
Open to all high school students graduating in 2024 from a public or private high school in Marion or Polk County. Homeschooled applicants are also eligible. Preference will be given to Maps members. Students must plan to continue their education within one year of graduation at an accredited educational institution (trade school, community college or 4-year college or university) in order to maintain the scholarship. Scholarship awards will be mailed directly to the educational institution.
